It is said that Australian Aboriginal art is the oldest living art practiced in the world with some paintings dating back 40,000 years. Jacaru is proudly handmade in Australia and the 1107 Koori pays homage to Indigenous Australian art and artists who create it.
Made from a waxed bovine leather the classic design is decorated with an authentic Aboriginal print hatband by Julie Nabangardi Sheddon.
The Bush Tucker artwork depicts three people sitting at their campfire. They have digging sticks and coolamons at their side showing that they are females. They are probably talking about the various foods in the surrounding lands. The honey ants, small lizards, snakes and witchery grubs are all shown, along with some bush fruits.
